Description
As described on Indeed, “a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), is responsible for managing an organization’s technological and scientific concerns. Their duties include communicating technology strategies to partners and investors, helping departments use technology profitably, and discovering and implementing new technologies that increase the business’s competitive advantage.” In fractional roles, this also often involves a person with technical knowledge who can represent the company’s interests in discussions with technical contracting firms doing implementation work for the company.
Scope:
The list here is for the first-hour engagement and continues at the same hourly rate, for a plan of work discussed on initial and later meetings. Consultant will use an agile approach which bounds cost and time but allows scope to vary depending on what obstacles or accelerators are encountered during the work, prioritizing work that adds the greatest business value.
Deliverables/Outputs:
Recommendations, communications copy, better understanding of contract terms negotiated more knowledgeably from the Company’s side, strategy advice, and more effective use of technology to solve Company and (especially) customer problems.
Timing:
This engagement is typically several months long with a relatively small number of hours each month. Clients can reduce hours to 0 or end the engagement at any time.
Assumptions:
Virtual engagement is assumed; in-person collaborative sessions are available, but location-dependent charges apply for travel. Consultant must preapprove use of Consultant’s name on any company-external marketing materials, including materials for marketing to investors.
