Description
The design and development of a 10-module course and any associated course content and learning activities through an iterative and collaborative process.
Scope:
- Subject Matter Expert: The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for developing learning materials and activities, along with all course-related content for the course. Summary of SME responsibilities:
- Identify course learning outcomes and instructional strategies that align with the target audience, course parameters, and course delivery format (i.e., online, blended, online self-study, virtual classroom, in-person, etc.)
- Conduct research and curate credible content using a variety of secondary sources and in a variety of formats
- Provide contextual information so the learner experiences a coherent learning journey
- Produce well-researched content that is clearly, coherently, and professionally written
- Develop engaging and interactive learning activities
- Instructional Design: The Instructional Designer (ID) provides pedagogical and technical expertise. Summary of ID responsibilities:
- Develop primary course design
- Identify and integrate educational technology applications
- Produce e-learning resources and assets
- Design and develop course materials
- Ensure course meets provincial standards for accessibility (i.e., AODA)
- Ensure course content meets copyright laws for educational institutions
Deliverables/outputs:
- Course plan
- Up to 10 modules
- Learning activities
- Embed into a Learning Management System (optional)
Timing:
- This work typically requires 6 months to complete. A specific timeframe for execution will be agreed between Client and Consultant after purchase.
Assumptions:
- Includes up to 3 rounds of revisions based on Client feedback
- Client will provide constructive feedback and guidance in reviews
- Client will review and accept deliverables within 15 days of final submission
- Client will provide relevant source materials and data, licensed company and brand assets, guidelines, etc.
- Out-of-scope or additional requests will require a separate engagement
