Denis has a variety of expertise ranging from chemistry to six-sigma methodologies to environmental technical compliance. He approaches problems with an analytical mindset, can work autonomously yet does not hesitate to reach out to colleagues for information. In one instance, Denis tackled a new compliance regulation by first researching it to understand what it was asking for, then made a business impact assessment to see what the extent of the changes would be, also identifying cost impacts. He updated the regulatory database accordingly, listing affected parts and presented his findings to business stakeholders. Not only does Denis exhibit high levels of business acumen and dedication, he conducts himself in a most friendly and pleasing way.

Denis was an enthuastic advocate of Lean Six Sigma at the time it was being rolled out across the company. Denis became a champion of the application of Lean Six Sigma both within the R&D department in which he worked, but also to other teams. He was able to analyse workstreams and help teams improve their efficiency and organisation. This often required gaining buy-in from senior stakeholders both in identification of problems and adoption of solutions through the methods that Denis used.
